‘Other Clubs’ Stronger On Tottenham’s England Star As ‘Seems Increasingly Likely He’ll Leave’ | OneFootball

Tottenham Hotspur‘s England international Djed Spence appears to be heading towards the exit door at Spurs this summer, but other clubs currently have a stronger interest than Liverpool.

Spence gave his reputation a further boost over the course of the summer with his performances at the World Cup under Thomas Tuchel.

He has been linked with potentially moving on from Spurs this summer, with Italian champions Inter Milan hugely keen.

The Italians though backed off in the race as they judged Tottenham’s demands for Spence to be too high.

Now Liverpool have been linked with a possible swoop for Spence as they look for extra defensive strength and a move to Anfield would appeal to the Tottenham man.

However, there are other clubs who hold a stronger interest in Spence than Liverpool do, indicating he may well end up elsewhere.

Journalist Tom Barclay wrote on X: “Told there are other clubs whose interest currently seems stronger, but let’s see how it develops.

“Spence’s price tag believed to be around £35m, seems increasingly likely he’ll leave #thfc this summer.”

It is unclear which other clubs might be plotting a swoop for Spence and whether they are prepared to meet Tottenham’s asking price for the defender.

Tottenham have done substantial business already this summer, but are set to do more, with adding in the final third now a particular focus for Roberto De Zerbi.

That desire could see business done with Liverpool, as Spurs are keen on Cody Gakpo and have had direct contact with the Dutchman’s entourage.

If Gakpo talks do get off the ground then Liverpool could potentially float the idea of Spence being included in the deal.

Liverpool though may need cash as they are looking to sign Paris Saint-Germain pair Ibrahim Mbaye and Bradley Barcola.

And with other sides keener than the Reds, Tottenham may stand more chance of achieving their full asking price elsewhere.
