It took (Ousmane) Camara inside seven minutes to set CD Castellón’s season in motion. The Guinea striker turned in a Raúl Sánchez cross to beat Real Sociedad B 1-0, the club’s first goal of 2026/27.

El Periódico Mediterráneo reports that Real Oviedo made a serious move for him this summer, alongside enquiries from other leagues, but Castellón’s valuation prevented progress. He remains in black and white and delivered on the pitch.

He ended last season with 12 goals in 37 LaLiga Hypermotion games, 29 of them starts, second only to Álex Calatrava at the club. He played about 2,450 minutes, averaging roughly 0.44 goals per 90, or one every 204 minutes, and added three assists.

From 52 shots, 29 were on target, with a conversion rate close to 23 per cent. His share of Castellón’s total xG rose from roughly 26 to over 33 per cent, and goals per 90 increased from 0.24 to 0.40. He also sharpened his passing, rising from about 70 to 77 per cent.

Formed at AJ Auxerre, he played 12 Ligue 2 games in 2023/24, scoring two with one assist, then hit six and two in 15 for Annecy on loan. Castellón signed him in summer 2024 after reaching agreement with Auxerre.

At Castalia he has produced standout turns, notably a brace off the bench against Mirandés that made him the sixth Castellón player to score twice as a substitute in a Primera or Segunda match. Matchday one again underlined his knack for changing games.
