Lazio are reportedly set to part ways with at least three players who are running on contracts expiring at the end of the season.

Four Lazio Players Running on Contracts Expiring in 2027

In the summer, the Biancocelesti offloaded three important players in the shape of Ivan Provedel, Mario Gila and Alessio Romagnoli. They also rescinded Samuel Gigot’s contract. These four players all had the same contract deadline: June 2027.

However, the current squad still has four players who could become free agents by the end of the season. According to Il Corriere dello Sport, at least three of them won’t be offered new deals. The source thus believes that Luca Pellegrini, Manuel Lazzari, and Danilo Cataldi are on on their way out.

Luca Pellegrini

This should be the most obvious case, as the 27-year-old fell down the pecking order following Alfonso Pedraza’s arrival. The left-back was thus omitted from the Serie A squad list alongside Patric, who completed a transfer to Al-Ittifaq on Monday morning. The question remains whether the former Juventus player will linger at Formello until the end of the season or find a new club in January.

Manuel Lazzari

Like Pellegrini, Lazzari is considered third choice in his position, with Romano Floriani Mussolini and Adam Marusic ahead of him in the right-back pecking order. The 32-year-old has at least managed to maintain a spot in the squad, but a future at Lazio is no longer plausible.

Danilo Cataldi

When Ciro Immobile left the club in the summer of 2024, Cataldi was overlooked for the captaincy in favour of Mattia Zaccagni. His relationship with the club has been strained ever since. The Lazio youth product returned to the capital in 2025 after a loan spell at Fiorentina, but the management has yet to offer him a new contract, and his ongoing physical struggles won’t help his case.

Matteo Cancellieri

Matteo Cancellieri is the exception on the list, as the Roman newspaper believes he’s the only one (among the out-of-contract players) who stands a realistic chance of earning an extension. The 24-year-old was almost sold during the summer Mercato, but Gennaro Gattuso blocked his departure.

The Italian winger has been a regular starter on the right flank, especially with Gustav Isaksen struggling to regain his best form. If he can keep his momentum, he will boost his chances of earning a new Lazio contract.
