Former Sunderland midfielder Ovie Ejaria has taken to LinkedIn to advertise his availability as he searches for a new club. According to Sunderland Echo, the 28-year-old has placed his details in front of clubs, agents and recruitment staff on the platform.
He spent last season with Real Oviedo in La Liga, making eight appearances. He is aiming to secure the next step in a career that has included Liverpool, Sunderland, Rangers and Reading.
He joined on loan from Liverpool in January 2018, arriving with Ashley Fletcher and Lee Camp as Chris Coleman tried to keep Sunderland in the Championship. He made 11 appearances and scored on the final day in a 3-0 win over champions Wolverhampton Wanderers at the Stadium of Light.
It was his first senior goal, though relegation had already been confirmed, and he returned to Liverpool that summer. He later played 28 times on loan at Rangers, then joined Reading, initially on loan before signing permanently, making more than 100 appearances before leaving in 2023.
In his LinkedIn post he set out his versatility, listing central midfield roles, six, eight and 10, plus left wing. He said he is London-based and invited clubs, agents and recruiters to contact him directly.
