Barcelona dropped three massive points against Real Sociedad last weekend in a game where they were not just unlucky but hard done by poor officiating.

The result does indeed see them retain their place on top of the league standings, but Real Madrid are just one point away now, and a win on Sunday night is a must if they are to assuredly remain leaders.

Their opponent on the night will be Real Oviedo at the Spotify Camp Nou, La Liga’s lowest-placed tea,m who have just two wins all season.

Further,  they have scored just 11 and conceded 31 goals so far this season.

Real Oviedo manager’s thoughts

Speaking to the media in the buildup of Sunday night’s clash against Barcelona, Oviedo manager Guillermo Almada urged his team to give their best shot and spoke on what they would have to do on the night to trouble the Catalans.

“[We have to play] a perfect match,” he began.

He then spoke on how the margin for error against Hansi Flick’s side was minimal and how Barcelona punishes any mistakes ruthlessly.

“If against Barcelona we commit the same mistakes that we committed against Osasuna, we will pay dearly.”

“I also know that it is one of the most enjoyable games of the season and we are proud to be part of that football party,” he added, looking forward to the clash.

Finally, he spoke on what his side must do to make matters difficult for Barcelona on the night, emphasising high pressing.

“[We must] take the ball away from Barça and be a compact team in the defensive phase,”  he said.

“[I am an] optimist by nature. [We must be prepared for] all the difficulties that the game presents us,” he added.
