Pablo Maffeo lands as Valencia loan nears and says he wants to stay | OneFootball

Pablo Maffeo landed at Manises in the early hours of Wednesday. He is in Valencia to complete a loan move to Valencia CF that includes a 3.5 million option to buy.

According to Superdeporte, the full-back will undergo a medical in the coming hours, then complete club media duties and final paperwork.

On arrival he described the switch as a long-held dream and said he had wanted the move since first learning it could happen.

He also signalled he is available for the head coach as soon as Saturday and vowed to give everything for the team. He said he is very happy to be there.

Asked about signing for two clubs in the same summer, having joined Olympiacos earlier in the window, Maffeo said this Valencia option was on the table even beforehand. He added it suited him and that nothing unusual happened in Greece.

Maffeo stressed he has come to compete to the maximum and that his wish is for Valencia to trigger the option and keep him. He said playing for Valencia motivates him, and that he will compete the same against Madrid as against any other side.
