Former Flamengo centre-back Pablo has been released by São Bernardo on the 29th after five months at the club. He has not played since January 2025, when he was still at Flamengo, due to ongoing physical issues, and is considering retirement.
According to GE, he will step away from football for a period to decide whether to continue professionally. His exit from São Bernardo was by mutual consent following a fresh muscle injury.
Pablo joined Flamengo in March 2022 from Lokomotiv in Russia, with the club paying 2.5 million euros, around R$ 14 million at the time, to the Russian side.
He made 51 appearances for Flamengo, registered one assist, and won the Copa do Brasil and the Libertadores in 2022.
He played the first four rounds of the 2025 Carioca while the senior squad were on pre-season in the United States. After that spell he was told he was not in the plans of coach Filipe Luís.
To maintain fitness he trained at Flamengo’s gym in alternative hours, then signed a one-season contract with São Bernardo at the end of 2025, running to the end of 2026.
