Levante have doubled down on promoting academy talent in recent weeks, and the impact of Paco Cortés has given the policy fresh momentum. The 18-year-old’s fearless cameo has quickly caught the eye at senior level.
According to Superdeporte, the Granada-born winger, tied to 2028, was recalled to Orriols from Cultural y Deportiva Leonesa after the club ended his loan, and he needed only minutes to energise supporters who follow the Buñol pathway closely.
Having first sampled the elite with a debut at the Santiago Bernabéu, Cortés came on at half-time against Elche and won over the Ciutat de València with pace and daring. Operating mainly into space and linking with the attack, he helped set the platform for a victory that ultimately arrived.
In 45 minutes against Elche he completed a match-high three of five dribbles, a burst of incision that lifted the home crowd.
Head coach Luís Castro praised the academy graduate in his press conference, noting he played because he can contribute, that his youth means he will grow with matches and experience, and that it was a solid display that can offer solutions.
