Palmeiras accuse a Corinthians staff member of assaulting forward Luighi after Sunday’s derby at Neo Química Arena, saying the altercation happened near the dressing-room access.

The 11th-round Campeonato Brasileiro match finished 0-0. Palmeiras ended with two more players after André and Matheuzinho were sent off for an obscene gesture and aggression respectively.

According to Globo.com, Luighi filed a report at the Special Criminal Court, the staffer named is Luis Fernando dos Santos, Corinthians’ first-team goalkeeping coach, and one Corinthians player kicked a Palmeiras security guard from behind.

Minutes later, Corinthians issued a statement alleging their players Gabriel Paulista and Breno Bidon were assaulted by Palmeiras security and that they would also lodge complaints with the same court.

Authorities are reviewing stadium footage to determine next steps, with staff and security among those involved in the scuffle.

The draw kept Palmeiras top of the league on 26 points. They host Athletico Paranaense on Sunday.
