Palmeiras resumed training on Thursday morning after a 1-0 win over LDU in the first leg of the Libertadores quarter-finals. They began preparing for the São Paulo derby with suspensions and one return.

According to Globo.com, the match kicks off at 18:30 on Saturday at Nubank Parque in the 27th round of the Brasileiro. Midfielder Marlon Freitas and centre-back Barboza, both starters last time out, are suspended and will miss out.

Andreas Pereira, who served a Libertadores ban, can face São Paulo and will return to the starting line-up. He could be joined in midfield by Lucas Evangelista or Emiliano Martínez.

The starters from the LDU game did recovery work, while the rest trained in small-sided technical drills with academy players.

Abel Ferreira will continue on Friday to shape his plan for the Choque-Rei. He usually holds a lighter final session on the morning of home matchdays.

At this stage, a likely XI features Carlos Miguel, Giay, Gómez, Murilo, Piquerez or Arthur, Lucas Evangelista or Emiliano Martínez, Andreas Pereira, Arias, Mauricio, Flaco López and Vitor Roque.
