Palmeiras condemn racist abuse of Carlos Miguel, Corinthians seek to identify culprit

Palmeiras condemned racist abuse aimed at goalkeeper Carlos Miguel during Sunday’s derby with Corinthians at Neo Química Arena in Itaquera, after a social media video captured a fan shouting "macaco" from the stands.
According to Globo.com, the club issued a statement expressing solidarity with the player and urging authorities to identify and punish those responsible.
As hosts, Corinthians also expressed support for Carlos Miguel and said they are working to find the perpetrator, pledging to cooperate fully with the authorities.
On Monday, the Federação Paulista de Futebol condemned the incident, called for a thorough investigation and reiterated that racism and discrimination have no place in football.
The incident followed a passage of play involving the Palmeiras keeper. The match formed part of the 11th round of the Brasileirão.
