Palmeiras graduate Pedro Lima announced by Portuguese giants Sporting on deal to 2031 | OneFootball

Pedro Lima, a Palmeiras academy graduate, has been announced by Sporting on a contract until 2031 after impressing with AVS in Portugal. According to Nosso Palestra, the unveiling came on Thursday 28.

Lima stood out for Palmeiras’ youth teams in 2023 and built on that form in Portuguese football last season.

A boyhood Palmeirense, he left the club in 2024 for loan spells in England and Croatia. In 2025 he departed permanently, taking the next step in Portugal.

Palmeiras are set to benefit financially across his career, not only through FIFA’s solidarity mechanism but also because the club keep a percentage when youngsters move for free or modest fees.

Academy chief João Paulo Sampaio has described this approach as a Palmeiras savings pot, with funds accruing to the club throughout the season.
