Palmeiras midfielder Raphael Veiga insists they can leave the Club World Cup with their heads held high.
Palmeiras took the final against Chelsea to extra time before losing 2-1.
Veiga said, "We have to know how to value everything we've done to get here. Of course we wanted to win. Getting here is not easy, playing as an equal against a team like this, which was or still is the best in Europe, which took several teams to get here...
"You have to value what we did, we didn't get here by lot or chance, we have our merits. We get upset, but we leave here very happy for the disposition of each one in these two games, we leave much more mature, sad, but with our heads held high always.
"To be honest, when we see the Champions League, a championship of this level, we say: 'My God'. It looks like it's very far away. But today, playing, we saw that it is not that distant. I repeat: we could have won the game . Brazilian teams are very good. Playing Campeonato Brasileiro is not easy. Perhaps, if they played the Brazilian, they would find it difficult because of the conditions.
"It's about appreciating what we've done, leaving with our heads held high and with the feeling that we've done our best."
