Palmeiras have turned away deciders into routine in 2026, keeping a perfect second-leg record. According to Nosso Palestra, Abel Ferreira’s side have advanced, or lifted a trophy, on all four such trips.

That second leg, played at Arena Pantanal, ended 3-2 to Fortaleza, yet Palmeiras went through 5-3 on aggregate. The toughest away decider so far came in the Libertadores against Cerro Porteño.

After finishing second in Group F, they drew 1-1 with Cerro at Nubank Parque then travelled to Asunción. A Gustavo Gómez goal earned a 1-0 win at Nueva Olla, putting Palmeiras into the quarter-finals and marking their first Libertadores knockout decided away since the 2021 semi-final.

Two more away second legs now await. In the Copa do Brasil quarter-finals, a 3-0 first-leg lead over Santos from Nubank Parque will be defended at Vila Belmiro on Wednesday 3. In the Libertadores quarter-finals against LDU, the first leg is on 9 September at Nubank Parque and the return on 16 September at Quito’s Rodrigo Paz Delgado.
