Palmeiras return from the international break to a congested run of 10 matches across the Brasileirão, Libertadores and Copa do Brasil.
According to Globo.com, it begins on 8 October against Bahia at Nubank Parque, 21:30 Brasília time, and runs to 8 November. Palmeiras won the reverse fixture 2-1 away.
The sequence continues with Corinthians on 11 October, Fluminense on 14 and 21 October, Athletico-PR on 16 October, Bragantino on 24 October, Santos on 28 October, Vasco on 1 and 8 November, and Remo on 5 November.
Head coach Abel Ferreira has long railed at the crush of games, saying in May that one spell had them playing four times in quick succession every other day. He added they would travel, prepare and play to win regardless of circumstances.
Rotation has been limited across 56 matches, with Carlos Miguel and Marlon Freitas on 52 appearances, Flaco López 51, Andreas Pereira 50, Murilo 47 and Gustavo Gómez 46. The break brought respite to most, but eight players were away on friendlies, namely Flaco, Giay, Piquerez, Emi Martínez, Gómez, Sosa, Mauricio and Arias. The club are planning logistics for their return, and, if they progress from the semi-finals, they could add two more games and keep title bids alive into December.
