Palmeiras have signed goalkeeper Bruno Bertinato, 28, from Portuguesa on a contract until the end of 2026. The club said in a statement that he completed medical tests, toured the Academia de Futebol and finalised terms.
In his first remarks as a Palmeiras player, Bertinato spoke of pride and happiness, praising the facilities and staff. He called Palmeiras the biggest club in Brazil and is eager to meet team-mates, get on the pitch and fight for big targets this year.
Born in Curitiba, he came through Coritiba’s academy and represented Brazil at youth level. He moved to Venezia in Italy at a young age and spent six seasons there, with loan spells at Lecco and Vis Pesaro.
He returned to Brazil at the end of 2024 to join Portuguesa. Late in 2025 he had a short stint with Mirassol before rejoining the Canindé club.
It is an opportunity he regards as the biggest of his life, and he feels prepared for the challenge at Palmeiras. He aims to show his ability and do plenty for the shirt.
