Palmeiras returned to training on Sunday morning at the Academia de Futebol after Saturday’s 1-1 draw with Santos, turning attention to Tuesday’s Conmebol Libertadores trip to Sporting Cristal in the fourth round of the group stage.

According to Globo.com, the squad will fly on Sunday afternoon, arrive in Lima in the evening, and complete their final preparations in the city.

The session featured only the less fatigued players on the pitch. Those with higher levels of tiredness worked indoors on recovery.

Paulinho, who made his comeback after 302 days, followed his individual programme inside under the Health and Performance unit, yet he has been named in the travelling party.

Palmeiras will train on Monday at the Peru national team’s training centre. Kick-off against Sporting Cristal is at 19:00 Brasília time, with top spot in Group F at stake, the hosts on six points and Palmeiras on five.
