Palmeiras trio in Uruguay provisional squad for next FIFA window | OneFootball

Uruguay have named a provisional squad for the next FIFA window, which runs from 24 September to six October 2026, with a Palmeiras trio included. The federation announced the list on Friday.

Diego Forlán’s side are set to play friendlies against Japan, South Korea and India during the period.

Piquerez and Emiliano Martínez, both selected for the World Cup, have been retained. Although they did not feature at the tournament, they were part of the entire cycle.

The new inclusion is Alexander Barboza, recently signed by Palmeiras.

On 24 September 2026, Japan host Uruguay in an international friendly. On 28 September 2026, South Korea face Uruguay in another friendly. The window closes with India against Uruguay on six October 2026.
