Palmeiras returned to training on Monday morning at the Academia de Futebol ahead of the Copa do Brasil quarter-final second leg against Santos. Alexander Barboza, Joaquín Piquerez and Jhon Arias trained with the group.

The tie is on Wednesday 2 at 21:30, at Vila Belmiro in Santos. According to Nosso Palestra, the session came one day after a 1-1 draw with Mirassol in the Campeonato Brasileiro.

Players who logged more than 45 minutes worked indoors on recovery. The rest completed two technical drills focused on decision-making and reaction with limited touches, then a practice match featuring Crias da Academia.

Barboza had been left out against Mirassol due to a foot trauma. Piquerez has been recovering from oedema in his right thigh, while Arias is treating a minor injury in the same area.

Palmeiras hold a strong advantage after beating Santos 3-0 at Nubank Parque last Wednesday 26. They can lose by up to two goals at Vila Belmiro and still progress. A three-goal defeat takes it to penalties, while losing by four or more eliminates Palmeiras.
