Leonardo Pantaleão, president of Corinthians’ Deliberative Council Ethics and Discipline Commission, is considering asking for a meeting with council chief Romeu Tuma Júnior to explore ways to clear overdue payments to the women’s squad. According to Meu Timao, the second instalment of delayed image-rights payments, promised by president Osmar Stabile, was not paid by Friday and is now only expected to be regularised from Tuesday 8.

Pantaleão said he would even organise a whip-round, calling the situation revolting, and argued that the total owed to the entire group amounts to about half the salary of a men’s first-team player, which he described as absurd.

The pledge was made last Tuesday, when part of the squad visited Parque São Jorge to demand action on the arrears. They arrived around 4pm and left close to 7.30pm after talks with women’s football director Iris Sesso and Stabile.

The deal set out two instalments, the first paid that Friday and the final half due last Friday. The sum covers June and July image rights that were not deposited on schedule. The amounts are to be settled using club funds rather than sponsor contributions such as Fatal Fans.

The players have also yet to receive prize money for the 2025 Libertadores triumph, plus bonuses for finishing runners-up in the FIFA Copa das Campeãs and the Supercopa do Brasil this season.

The delay persists at a decisive stage of the calendar. Corinthians host Cruzeiro at 17:00 on Monday 7 at Canindé in the Brasileirão Feminino quarter-final second leg, having won the first leg 1-0.
