Wolves kept Jorgen Strand Larsen despite heavy Newcastle interest in the summer, but with the 25-year-old struggling, Paolo Di Canio has floated Juventus as a possible next step. He still hopes to play Champions League football after a potential move to Newcastle fell through.

“Juve need a physical player up front, someone who can play a key role. From England, I suggest Jorgen Strand Larsen from Wolverhampton: physical, hungry, and a team player. I’d go for him for 40-45 million (35-39 million).” He was speaking to Sky Sports Italia.

Newcastle were said to have offered up to 35 million, yet with little time to find a replacement Wolves turned down every approach.

Despite his dry spell, Rob Edwards believes the forward is not short of confidence. Fans are growing impatient, and Owen Hargreaves believes the criticism stems from him wanting to leave in the summer.

Wolves are unlikely to receive anything close to those summer bids. Even with a recent new contract, his price would fall if the club are relegated, which currently looks likely, and he will likely be among the exits next summer. Everton supporters have also suggested him as an option.
