According to Coluna Do Fla, Flamengo have committed a club-record €42 million to bring Lucas Paquetá back from West Ham, placing the deal as the second most expensive transfer in world football in 2026.
The only fee above it this year is Antoine Semenyo’s €72 million switch from Bournemouth to Manchester City.
Flamengo reached agreement with West Ham after weeks of talks, including a five-year contract.
The schedule includes €15.25 million upfront and €26.75 million in four instalments running to 2028.
The club are racing to register Paquetá in the CBF’s Boletim Informativo Diário, the BID, as they want him to debut on Sunday 1 against Corinthians in the Supercopa do Brasil.
