AZ and Excelsior drew 1-1 in Alkmaar, a result that lifts AZ from eighth to seventh in the Eredivisie.

In the 48th minute, Stijn van Gassel parried Troy Parrott's close-range effort. He saved again (52.) before Parrott finally slid a left-footed finish into the bottom left corner (65.).

Excelsior's triple change (78.) paid off, as Mike Van Duinen teed up Miliano Jonathans to turn in from close range for the equaliser (81.).
