Former Santos forward Weslley Patati, 22, has rounded off his second campaign in European football by helping AZ Alkmaar lift the Dutch Cup. Across AZ and Maccabi Tel Aviv this season he made 45 appearances, scoring three and assisting three.

As reported by Diario Do Peixe, this was his first season in the Netherlands following a spell with Maccabi Tel Aviv. Patati said it had been a very important year for his development, noting that joining a major Dutch club and winning silverware in his debut campaign felt special. He added that he finishes the season more prepared and confident for what comes next.

Promoted by Santos in 2022, he made 33 senior appearances, scoring two goals with one assist. In September 2024 he moved to Maccabi Tel Aviv for €1.3 million, about R$ 8.1 million at the time, beginning his international career.

In Israel he quickly became a fans’ favourite, nicknamed “Mago Brasileiro”. He produced 15 goals and nine assists in 45 matches, playing a leading role in title-winning campaigns in the Israeli league and the Israeli Cup.

AZ signed him in August 2025 for about €7 million, making him the most expensive recruit in the club’s history. His contract runs until mid 2030.
