Patrick Vieira has named his first Senegal squad, a 29-player group for 2027 Africa Cup of Nations qualifying against Mozambique and Ethiopia plus a friendly with Comoros. According to L'Équipe, Sadio Mané misses out through injury, and the coach said he will be in the next camp.

Vieira faced the media in Dakar on Friday as the Lions of Teranga prepare for three fixtures in the next international window. They visit Mozambique on 25 September, then Ethiopia on 29 September, before meeting Comoros on four October.

The 1998 World Cup winner has blended established names with fresh faces. Captain Kalidou Koulibaly is in, alongside Idrissa Gueye, Nicolas Jackson and Ismaïla Sarr.

Nine Ligue 1 players are called, among them Moussa Niakhaté of Lyon, Lamine Camara of Monaco and Abdallah Sima of Lens. Rennes duo Boulaye Dia and Issa Soumaré are also included.

The goalkeepers selected are Yehvann Diouf, Mory Diaw, Ngagne Demba Thiam and Mamour Ndiaye.
