FC Barcelona put in another good performance as they beat Levante 4-2 in their latest La Liga match, which was played today, on Sunday, in Valencia. Hansi Flick made some changes to his starting lineup for this match, but was still able to get the full three points.
Lamine Yamal was once again the standout performer in this match, as he scored a brace, while Raphinha gave two assists. The youngster Xavi Espart scored the first goal of the game, while Karim Adeyemi scored the last, in injury time.
In the backline, Pau Cubarsi once again had a good outing. He showcased his characteristic maturity and composure, but he was unable to keep Levante from scoring two goals. As Mundo Deportivo has reported, he also talked to the media after the end of the game, and rued giving chances away to their opponents:
“It was a match that we had under control. Because of two mistakes that we should have controlled, they got back into the game.”
The defender assured that the players knew the game was not over even when Barcelona were three goals up:
“On these pitches, you pay for any mistake. We knew it would be difficult to win here and that the game wasn’t over at 3-0. At 3-0, we have to be ready, stay composed and control the game. We have room for improvement when it comes to calming games down.”
The center-back also commented on how Adeyemi’s goal was important:
“We were able to calm things down because the fans were putting a lot of pressure on us, and Karim’s goal came at the perfect time. It helped us a lot. We are on a very good run and we have to keep going and improving.”
His good performance at the back helped Barcelona get the full three points, but hopefully, Pau Cubarsi will put in another such good performance and keep a clean sheet in his upcoming game..
