Paul Pogba ‘held talks’ with Paris Saint-Germain in the winter of 2022 before rejoining Juventus that summer, L’Équipe reports.

The midfielder, then nearing the end of his Manchester United contract, drew interest from Juventus, Real Madrid and PSG. The report said Pogba made the initial approach and met then sporting director Leonardo.

Discussions ended without agreement by the close of that winter as PSG moved away from their bling-bling project. He returned to Juventus in the summer.

Pogba, 32, is now at AS Monaco on a two-year deal signed after his doping ban ended. He has played just over 30 minutes across three appearances and has not featured since early December.

He has been deregistered from Monaco’s Champions League squad and was not fit for Wednesday’s second leg of the play-off against PSG. Les Monégasques trail 2-3 and are seeking to overturn the deficit.
