Paul Pogba (32) could have made his AS Monaco debut today. The Frenchman was set to be included in the matchday squad to face Paris FC. However, on Thursday, he suffered a minor ankle injury.
Speaking on Friday, Sébastien Pocognoli said that Pogba would likely not return until after the international break. The match against Stade Rennais on 22nd November was earmarked as the potential return date for a player who has not played since September 2023.
Pocognoli added that the club were awaiting the results of tests on the ankle. But Fabrizio Romano and Le Parisien now report that the injury may not be as bad as initially feared. Pogba could return before the international break and specifically, against RC Lens, at the Stade Louis II on 8th November.
An earlier return would be a boost for the Principality club, who are also without Denis Zakaria and Lamine Camara, the usual starters in this sector.
