According to Nosso Palestra, Palmeiras have set an initial internal expectation that Paulinho could be ready between 12 and 21 March, with the forward currently pain-free and eager to return after a second procedure on his right tibia.

The No 10 arrived at Palmeiras at the start of 2025 and made his debut in April after recovering from surgery on his right tibia. A lack of physical progression led to another operation following the Club World Cup.

He has progressed well through the club’s protocols and, following tests in recent days, has taken part in on-pitch work. Inside the camp, he has been open about his anxiety to get back and help the team.

The health and performance unit is keeping a cautious plan despite his wish to accelerate. That window would cover fixtures against Vasco, Mirassol, Botafogo and São Paulo.

As in 2025, staff intend to manage his workload and minutes in the first games, mindful of the risk of a muscle injury after a long lay-off. Even with that concern, the internal view is that processes have been followed rigorously and they believe Paulinho will be able to return at a high technical and tactical level to offer Abel Ferreira an excellent option.
