Paulo Buosi lines up plans for Palmeiras presidency, with Abel decision and key deals ahead | OneFootball

Paulo Buosi, Palmeiras’ second vice-president, has emerged as the continuity candidate to succeed Leila Pereira in the 2027 presidential election.

According to Nosso Palestra, Leila raised succession at last month’s anniversary dinner and backed Buosi. She values his long involvement since the Maurício Galiotte era and his grasp of existing processes.

An early decision would be Abel Ferreira’s future. He is contracted until December 2027 following a December 2025 renewal, with no release clause for either side.

Buosi and Abel have a good relationship and are expected to speak in 2027 about their intentions and the staff. If Abel chooses to leave, appointing a successor and defining the football model would be immediate tasks.

Academy chief João Paulo Sampaio is central to Buosi’s planning. Close to Buosi, he has served since 2015, marked 10 years in 2025, and is credited with transforming the youth setup.

Leapmotor runs to March 2028 on the back of men’s and women’s first teams and the academy, and MotoChefe Brasil to March 2028 on the rear of match and training shorts for first teams and academy.

Embracon’s deal, signed in July 2026, runs to July 2028 and occupies the chest across match, training and warm-up kits for men’s, women’s and academy sides. Puma’s supply agreement was renewed in 2024 for 2025 to 2028, with any continuation a strategic call in the next cycle.
