Paulo Fonseca contests Endrick dismissal, says he was fouled first

Paulo Fonseca has contested Endrick’s red card for a challenge on Tabibou.

Endrick was dismissed on the hour after a studs-on tackle from behind on Tabibou, with referee Mathieu Vernice producing a red card.

According to Le Progres, Fonseca did not accept the sanction on several counts and argued Endrick had been fouled first.

Lyon are two matches from equalling the all-time record of 14 consecutive victories set in 2006 by Gérard Houllier’s side.

They face Nice in a week, then play at Strasbourg on 22 February. It is not certain Endrick will feature, and the dismissal could cost him one or two Ligue 1 matches.
