Pavlidis and Schjelderup fire Benfica as unbeaten run rolls on

Benfica beat Gil Vicente 2-1 at Estádio Cidade de Barcelos, staying unbeaten in Liga Portugal and holding third place.
In the 35th minute Evangelos Pavlidis tapped in from close range following a corner, after a knock-down by António Silva. The striker then struck the bar (38.).
A blow for the visitors came when Fredrik Aursnes went off injured, with Enzo Barrenechea coming on (50.). Moments later, Hector Hernandez levelled with a low finish from Santiago Garcia Gonzalez's pass (51.).
Andreas Schjelderup restored the Águias' advantage with a crisp left-footed strike into the top left (73.).
Anatolii Trubin made four saves, including tipping over a rising drive from Ghislain Konan (90.). The Águias managed the closing stages cleanly.
Gil Vicente registered 13 attempts, five on target. The Águias produced 11 attempts, three on target.
Pavlidis is now on 21 league goals, second in the Liga Portugal scoring chart.
