Barcelona faced off against Jose Bordalas’ Getafe late on Saturday night in a league clash the team has loathed for years.
After all, the team’s last goal at Coliseum Alfonso Perez ahead of kickoff was back in 2019 and the team was winless in its last four appearances at the stadium.
On this occasion, however, it did not take long for Barcelona to take the early lead through Jules Kounde. However, Getafe found a surprising equaliser in the first half to force the game into another decisive deadlock.
The second half was tightly contemplating as both managers made tactical changes to outdo the other. However, it eventually boiled down to a goalless half and saw the two teams split the spoils.

The Spanish youngster returned to his duty as Barcelona’s league goalkeeper and did not have a busy first half although he was called into action for Getafe’s equaliser.
Did well to stop the initial shot but could not do much about the rebound.
The left-back continued his upward trend and had a good game at Coliseum Alfonso Perez, tormenting the hosts with his pace and trickery down the left.
Played a key role in the opening goal with a shimmy down the left flank to find Pedri in space and always threatened on the counterattack.
The youngster dished out another mature performance on the first anniversary of his debut for the first team. With Inigo Martinez out, he took up more responsibility for the buildup phase in addition to his defensive duties.
The captain kept up his good run of form and was impressive with his distribution as well.
His direct style of defence was largely well-suited against Getafe’s physical style of play albeit there was not much he could do to deny the hosts’ equaliser which came off a rebound.

The right-back kept his red-hot streak going as he found the back of the net once more, scoring the team’s opener with a composed finish past David Soria.
Maintained his understanding with Lamine Yamal and posed questions down Getafe’s left flank.
A decent first half from Casado with nothing extraordinary beyond his usual duties of holding the fortress.
Looked slightly flustered on the ball at times and was under pressure by Getafe’s occasional press. Sacrificed in the second half for a tactical change.
Pedri was, by far, Barcelona’s most comfortable player in midfield despite Getafe’s physical presence. He controlled the tempo of the game, looked to thread the ball through the defence and also held his own as the pivot.
Created the opening goal from nothing with his magical touch, putting the ball virtually through the entire Getafe team to find Kounde.

A relatively quiet first half by Gavi’s high standards as he did not create any extraordinary threat in the Getafe box.
Did well to combine with Yamal and Co in the buildup but often found himself overwhelmed by Getafe’s solid defensive lines.
Be it Getafe or Real Madrid, Yamal’s dribbling prowess and magic sees no change.
Despite playing against compact defensive lines, the young protege danced down the left flank with magical touches and created repeated threats down the flank.
The Brazilian was forced to drop deep for a greater part of the game to add numbers in midfield and provide passing outlets, thus reducing his presence as a goalscoring threat.
Had a sensational chance to double Barcelona’s lead just before the equaliser but could not find the right header.
The Polish international struggled to find his footing in the tight spaces in the Getafe box, never really getting enough room to wrap his foot around the ball and generate power for a strike.
The Frenchman came on to replace Casado in the second half as Flick attempted to bring verticality into the dynamic at the expense of some defensive stability.
Played largely in a deeper role, anchoring the play and playing as part of the double pivot and did well to carry forward the positive form he showed against Real Betis.
