A scintillating performance from FC Barcelona saw the team run circles around RCD Mallorca. At home, in front of their own fans, La Blaugrana completely outplayed their opponents and did well to secure all three points. Ultimately, no matter how hard Mallorca tried to defend Barcelona, they could not stop the inevitable.
With a brilliant goal from Dani Olmo, Barça managed to grab three points and extend their lead to seven points at the top of the La Liga table. A brilliant performance across the board, this was surely one of the better performances from Hansi Flick’s team this season despite seeing several players be rotated.
Here are the player ratings for Hansi Flick’s team.
Player Ratings:
Wojciech Szczesny: 7.5
Did extremely well early on to push away some of the more threatening Mallorca passes and parried them away. Also did well to command his box and distributed possession effectively as well.
Eric Garcia: 8.0
Despite not playing in a natural position of his out on the right flank, Eric Garcia was quite impactful. His eagerness to win duels was always there, and he even managed to grab an assist in this game.
Ronald Araujo: 8.5
Completely kept the RCD Mallorca forward quiet all game long and never gave him even a second to breathe. Great outing from the Uruguayan defender, who completed nullified the player he was marking.
Inigo Martinez: 7.5
Did not have to do much defensively thanks to the great work being done by Ronald Araujo, but his distribution was solid and he also did well to command the defensive line.
Hector Fort: 7.5
Great at taking on his opponents in direct confrontations, Hector Fort was a problem for the opposition. He played well out wide, and he clearly gave the opposition a lot to worry about with his runs and presence out there.
Gavi: 8.5
Always there for his teammates as a passing outlet, Gavi covered a lot of distance and made sure to make it count as well. Went into challenges with his usual intensity and kept giving the Mallorca players a hard time whenever they came near him.
Pedri: 9.5
What a player, and what a magician on the field. Pedri was everywhere, and he was everything for this Barcelona team. From sensational solo runs to mind-blowing passes, the Spanish midfielder delivered yet another masterful performance in this game.
Lamine Yamal: 8.0
Kept running circles around his marker, and made life miserable for Mallorca. However, beyond his incredible dribbling, the young winger’s finishing really needed to be better in this game.
Dani Olmo: 9.0
Immensely effective against Mallorca, Dani Olmo operated expertly well in tight spaces. Thanks to him, Barcelona were able to grab a goal in the second half and it was possible due to the Spaniard’s great positioning and impressive ball control.
Ansu Fati: 7.5
An exciting performance from Ansu Fati saw the young winger show sparks of his former self again. Much more active and involved in the play this time around, all he was missing was his finishing touch and that would have been the perfect gift for the Barça fans cheering him on the whole game.
Ferran Torres: 7.5
The Spaniard was quite energetic and managed to get into some very good positions. While he was unable to find the back of the net, his movement and intensity constantly created headaches for the opposition.
Fermin Lopez: 6.5
Added some energy into the game and was eager to always create danger as he often ran into open space and did well to cause confusion.
Raphinha: 6.0
Had a decent cameo but could not do much with it.
Gerard Martin: 6.5
Did well to cover ground on the left flank and enabled himself to come into some decent positions.
Pau Victor: N/A
Not enough time or influence on the game to warrant a rating.
Frenkie de Jong: N/A
Not enough time or influence on the game to warrant a rating.
