Pedri and Raphinha miss out on 2026 Ballon d’Or 30-man shortlist | OneFootball

Pedri and Raphinha have been left off the 30-man shortlist for the 2026 Ballon d’Or, to be awarded on Monday 26 October in London. Barcelona’s male nominees are Pau Cubarsí, Lamine Yamal and Rodri Hernández, plus Ferran Torres.

According to El Periódico Mediterráneo, Spain have six world champions on the list, the four already mentioned alongside Marc Cucurella and Fabián Ruiz. Omission set includes David Raya after an outstanding Arsenal season, Enzo Fernández, Mikel Oyarzabal, Désire Doué and Bukayo Saka.

Sadio Mané and Julián Quiñones make the cut despite playing in Saudi Arabia. Lionel Messi is included after a historic World Cup, but Cristiano Ronaldo is not.

Barcelona’s representation is even lower than Real Madrid’s, who supply Kylian Mbappé, Vinícius Junior, Jude Bellingham and recent recruit Marc Cucurella. PSG lead the way with 10 nominees, largely last season’s starters bar Safonov and Doué.

In the women’s 30, the standout absence is Aitana Bonmatí, winner in each of the past three years. Injuries limited her to 22 games last season, curbing hopes of retaining the crown.

Six Barcelona players are selected, Esmee Brugts, Cata Coll, Caroline Graham Hansen, Patri Guijarro, Ewa Pajor and Claudia Pina, plus Mapi León and Alexia Putellas of London City. There are also six Spaniards in total, the aforementioned names and Mariona Caldentey. Real Madrid’s sole representative, in part, is Caroline Weir, now at OL Lyonnes.
