Barcelona celebrated one of the most memorable nights in the club’s recent history after defeating Real Madrid 2-0 at Spotify Camp Nou to officially secure the La Liga title.

The atmosphere inside the stadium was electric from the final whistle, with players, coaching staff and supporters all celebrating a victory that not only sealed the championship, but also came against their biggest rivals in El Clasico.

Among the first Barcelona players to speak after the match was Pedri, who struggled to hide his emotions following the huge result.

The midfielder described the night as one of the most special moments of his career so far.

“It feels like a dream come true; we wanted to win it here, like this, in a Clásico that will go down in history.”

The Spanish midfielder also admitted that lifting the league trophy in front of the home fans made the achievement even more emotional for the squad.

“It’s something that’s hardly ever happened in history; it’s lovely to celebrate with family, friends and the fans – it’s not something you get to do every day.”

Dedicated to Hansi Flick

Much of the post-match attention also centred around Hansi Flick following the emotional events surrounding the Barcelona manager earlier in the day.

Flick had received the heartbreaking news of his father’s passing just hours before the match, making the title-winning victory even more emotional.

Pedri explained that the squad wanted to dedicate the victory to Flick and his family.

“I’d like to keep him up there. We wanted to do it for him, for everything he’s given us and for the loss he’s suffered – this is dedicated to him in heaven following the loss of his father.”

De Jong praises Flick’s influence

Barcelona captain Frenkie de Jong also spoke after the game and highlighted just how important this particular title felt to the dressing room.

“Every title is special, but this one is even more so because we won it at home against Madrid.”

The Dutch midfielder went on to praise Flick’s management style and the freedom he gives the players on the pitch.

“Hansi is very important; he has a clear vision and gives us plenty of freedom to show our quality.”

Despite the celebrations, the Barcelona players are already looking ahead to next season and the possibility of finally bringing the Champions League trophy back to Camp Nou.

De Jong admitted the squad still has unfinished business in Europe, although he insisted the players fully intend to enjoy their league success first.

“Every title you win should be celebrated in style, and even more so a La Liga title.

“Of course, we want to win the Champions League; that’s the goal, and next year we’ll have another chance,” he added.
