Pedri ranks Barcelona’s start to the season

Pedri was notably asked to rate Barcelona’s start to the new season and how the club have performed in the first nine matches.

Pedri, in response, did not sugarcoat things and handed a rating of ‘six or seven’ on a scale of ten.

“Well, the truth is that we started off decently, but in the recent period, there are things we need to improve, and we’ve noticed that and we know exactly what needs to be developed,” he said.

“The great thing is that with the coach and the technical staff, we’re working on correcting the mistakes we made previously, and if I had to give a rating, it would be between 6 and 7, but I hope that on Sunday our rating is 10,” he added.

It is no secret that Pedri is one of Barcelona’s most important players as they look to maintain their dominance over Real Madrid.

The midfielder, though, is well aware of the fact that Real Madrid have performed significantly well compared to last season.

“I’ve watched some of their [Madrid] matches, and it’s clear they’ve changed some things. They now have greater ball possession and try to be the ones controlling the game,” he said, when asked about Real Madrid.

Finally, the Spanish international offered his outlook on the season’s first El Clasico. stating that Barcelona will look to dominate possession as usual.

“We will try to be the side dominating the ball, while they will definitely prefer to rely on counter-attacks, especially with players like Mbappé and Vinícius, who move very quickly and excel at executing counter-attacks brilliantly,” he concluded.
