Pedro Faria has left Benfica to take charge of Torreense’s under-23s, his first post away from Seixal and the most advanced age group of his career. According to Glorioso 1904, the 43-year-old’s appointment is official.

The Azeitão-born coach joined Benfica in 2018/19 to lead the under-14s. He won under-15 titles in 2022/23 and 2023/24, then lifted the under-17 crown in 2024/25.

He is set to replace Fábio Vieira and will work alongside Luís Tralhão, who is on the first-team staff.

With the move long expected, Benfica have named João Rodrigues, 31, as under-17 head coach for the new season, continuing the Benfica Campus pathway.

Rodrigues steps up after guiding the under-15s, rewarded with responsibility for one of the academy’s most competitive groups.

At under-15 level, Rui Silva will take charge, another internal promotion that underlines the club’s development ethos at Seixal.
