Lorenzo Pellegrini is at the heart of Gian Piero Gasperini’s project.
In part due to injuries affecting the attacking line, the number 7 is getting a lot of playing time (1,853 minutes in all competitions), but the question of a contract renewal remains open.
The club would like to lower the fee, while the Serie A big clubs are monitoring the situation.
The Giallorossi attacking midfielder didn’t receive Gennaro Gattuso’s call-up for the World Cup playoffs and remained at Trigoria to train ahead of Inter vs. Roma.
During Wednesday’s training session, Gian Piero Gasperini praised the player’s attitude.
As Paolo Assogna told Radio Manà, Manà Pellegrini criticized some young players who weren’t showing the right attitude.
He has a leadership personality that Gasp would have appreciated, and who knows, he might even have a say in the renewal issue.
The number 7 is perhaps more concerned about the Roma issue than anyone else, and the Giallorossi coach has always emphasized this aspect of the player. Despite losing the captain’s armband due to the coach’s new policy, the 1996-born player remains the team’s leader.
The attacking midfielder hopes to continue his adventure in the capital alongside Gianluca Mancini and Bryan Cristante, who will renew their contracts.
