Savinho suffered an injury during the early stages of the second-half of Manchester City’s nil-all draw with Sunderland a week ago. The Brazilian international has subsequently missed City’s past two matches against Chelsea and Brighton. There hadn’t been an update provided on the status of Savinho or how long he would be sidelined. Pep Guardiola provided an update following his team’s 1-all draw with Brighton last night. Savinho faces a lengthy period on the sidelines as Manchester City have lost another player to injury.
Pep Guardiola revealed after his team’s frustrating draw with Brighton that Savinho is set for a lengthy spell on the sidelines. Savinho suffered an injury during Manchester City’s nil-all draw with Sunderland at The Stadium of Light. When asked about Savinho’s condition and how longhe is ruled out for, in quotes relayed by Hayters TV, Pep Guardiola said “Long. I don’t know. A month and a half, two months. He will be back.”

Manchester City now have a host of players, including Savinho, who are ruled out due to injury for a significant period of time. Mateo Kovacic is out after having a second round of surgery on an Achilles issue. Josko Gvardiol will likely miss the remainder of this season due to a fractured tibial bone in his right leg. Ruben Dias is out for between four to six weeks with a hamstring injury. Finally, John Stones is ruled out for an indefinite period of time due to injury. The City squad is stretched, and Savinho’s injury just adds to the issue.
Despite missing so many players due to injury, Pep Guardiola’s side must soldier on. There is no break in the fixtures coming up, so there is no time for the Manchester City squad to feel sorry for themselves. They must keep going forward with what they have, as dwelling on who is unavailable won’t help City get a win after three consecutive draws.
