Wolves manager Vítor Pereira insists "the time for adaptation has finished" and has urged his squad to kick-start their campaign after a 2-0 Carabao Cup win over Everton on Tuesday.
Marshall Munetsi and Tolu Arokodare found the net in each half to guide the Premier League strugglers into the fourth round at Molineux.
The result offers some respite for Wolves, who also knocked out West Ham in the previous round, following the club’s worst-ever league start which has left them rooted to the bottom of the table.
They have suffered five straight defeats in the top flight — including a 3-2 home loss to Everton last month — but remain hopeful Pereira’s experience can help turn things around.
"Now for the players, the new players, the time for adaptation has finished. This is time to perform and time to help the team," said the well-travelled Portuguese coach afterwards.
"With two or three good results we can play at another level, for sure.
"The work I watch everyday in training is hard work and this is a group who work a lot, they compete and want to be at a better level. We're just missing the results because the players have quality.
"I'm happy for my players because I missed their smiles and the smiles of the supporters."
