The Saints will now fight for promotion to the Premier League against Hull City at Wembley Stadium on May 23

Bayern can look forward to eight million euros

For FC Bayern, this promotion could be particularly interesting financially. According to consistent media reports, a purchase obligation for Daniel Peretz would apply in the event of promotion to the Premier League. The fixed transfer fee is said to be around eight million euros

Peretz moved to Munich from Maccabi Tel Aviv in the summer of 2023 for around five million euros

In sporting terms, however, the Israeli international goalkeeper was never able to establish himself permanently at the record champions

Internally, Peretz apparently no longer plays a role in Bayern’s long-term plans. With Manuel Neuer and Jonas Urbig, Munich already have two clear options for the coming season. In addition, there are many indications that Neuer will extend his contract in the near future. Peretz is therefore considered a candidate for sale

However, the 25-year-old’s loan spell at Southampton developed quite positively for him. In England, the keeper gained important match practice and impressed on several occasions. For Peretz himself, a promotion to the Premier League would be the biggest step in his career to date. From Bayern’s point of view, this would be an ideal outcome. Munich could sell a player without sporting prospects at a profit and at the same time create space in their already strong goalkeeping squad

One thing is clear: on May 23, the team at Säbener Straße will be keeping a particularly close eye on Wembley.
