Saints goalkeeper Daniel Peretz is a doubt for next weekend’s south coast derby against Portsmouth after withdrawing from Israel duty with a groin problem.

Sport5 reports that the 26-year-old will be out for 10 days.

He was omitted from Thursday’s match against Kosovo after picking up the issue earlier in the week. He will also miss Israel’s remaining two Nations League fixtures this break and is returning to Saints for treatment.

The problem is understood to be a slight strain rather than a tear, and the withdrawal is considered precautionary. His condition will be assessed and could rule him out of the derby.

Saints face Portsmouth in 10 days’ time, on Sunday, October 11 at 12pm, then visit Norwich City on Wednesday, October 14.
