Serge Gnabry and Raphaël Guerreiro are the next two absentees for FC Bayern. This is the current status of both players
As already announced on Friday, Bayern coach Vincent Kompany will have to do without Serge Gnabry for the Bundesliga home game against FC Augsburg. The attacking player has contracted a gastrointestinal infection and will not be fit in time for the game. Gnabry was also absent from yesterday’s final training session. After Dayot Upamecano and Sacha Boey had already been sidelined recently, Gnabry is now the third absentee at FCB due to illness. At least Lennart Karl, who also did not take part in the final training session, is fit for the game against FCA. The 17-year-old will line up between Luis Díaz and Michael Olise in the starting eleven
After starting in the Champions League against Saint-Gilloise during the week, Raphaël Guerreiro is also out for Saturday afternoon’s game against Augsburg. Unlike his team-mates Upamecano and Gnabry, however, he is not absent due to illness. The Portuguese has picked up a calf injury and will miss his next chance to start
Despite a total of eight players in the squad who can play at full-back, only four of them are currently fit for action: Alphonso Davies, Hiroki Ito, Tom Bischof and Joshua Kimmich. In addition to Guerreiro, Sacha Boey, Konrad Laimer (torn calf muscle fibre) and Josip Stanisic (ankle capsule injury) are therefore unavailable
Against FC Augsburg, Bayern coach Kompany has completely dispensed with a nominal right-back in his starting eleven, with Davies at right-back and Hiroki Ito at left-back as his solution to the personnel shortage.
