Petkovic Eyes Huge Bonus as Algeria Near World Cup Qualification
The Algeria national team's on the verge of booking its ticket to the 2026 World cup in North America needing just 1 more positive result to secure qualification.
The two time African champions top their qualifying group with 19 point, 4 clear of second placed Uganda.
After missing out on Russia 2018 & Qatar 2022, the Desert Foxes are eager to return to football’s biggest stage.
Since Coach Vladimir Petkovic taking over in February 2024 after Algeria’s poor AFCON campaign, He's led the team in 16 match (winning 11 & drawing 3 & losing just 2).
The Desert Foxes have scored 41 goal at average of 2.5 per game while conceding 17 goal (1.1 per game).
Coach Petkovic could pocket 400000 euro bonus if he successfully guides Algeria to the World cup according to multiple reports.
The Swiss tactician'd already received 100000 euro for sealing qualification to the 2025 Africa cup of Nations in Morocco.
Currently earning monthly salary of €100000, Petkovic makes about third of what he was paid during his time in charge of Switzerland.
