Sunderland lost 3-0 to Arsenal at the Emirates Stadium in the Premier League on Saturday afternoon.
Martin Zubimendi struck an excellent opener, then second-half substitute Viktor Gyokeres added two to make the hosts comfortable. Sunderland Echo notes that Regis Le Bris’s side stayed competitive for long spells.
Goalkeeper Robin Roefs received a 6, with little he could do about any of the goals. He got a hand to the second, and handled Arsenal’s corners well overall.
Right-back Nordi Mukiele was also given 6 after a largely strong defensive display and regular forays forward. A loose pass from him preceded the second goal, which Arsenal punished ruthlessly.
Centre-back Dan Ballard earned 6 too, battling Gabriel Jesus effectively and making few errors. Arsenal coped with his set-piece threat.
Partner Omar Alderete was rated 6, solid and resolute at the back. He stayed composed on the ball when his side needed it.
