Philadelphia Union took care of business at Subaru Park, defeating DC United 3-0 in a match that continued to cement the Boys in Blue's dominance at home. The victory extended the team's undefeated streak at home against their I-95 rival to 14 straight matches without a loss to DC United, an MLS record all-time.
Despite the differences from their last game, the team maintained their level of play and secured three valuable points to keep building momentum for the 2025 season.
Philadelphia Union's early pressure was paid off soon enough. Frankie Westfield made room on the right in the 15th minute and delivered a perfect cross to Jakob Glesnes. The defender did not hesitate and smashed a volley into the back of the net to give Union the lead at Subaru Park.
DC United tried to level matters before halftime but ran into a brick wall named Andre Blake. In the 41st minute, the Jamaican goalkeeper made a crucial save against a strong shot from Jacob Murrell. Blake's save kept the scoreline at 1-0.
Like in the first half, there was no time-wasting by Philadelphia Union after the break. In the 52nd minute, Danley Jean Jacques, already on the scoresheet in the previous game, did it once more. After a quick pass from Quinn Sullivan, the midfielder picked up speed, dribbled past Murrell, and fired a shot that struck the right post before going in to double the lead.
Philadelphia Union still had time to net a third and turn the win into a rout. Mikael Uhre fought an aerial battle and headed the ball to Bruno Damiani in the 77th minute, and he did not hesitate. The Uruguayan forward brought the ball under control inside the area and scored with precision, netting his second goal in the 2025 campaign.
