An amusing moment in Norwich on Friday saw Philippe Clement lament the lack of VAR in the Championship by reciting the 81 leagues that use it, according to L'Équipe.
The Norwich City head coach revisited his side’s 1-2 opening defeat to West Brom on 15 August, highlighting controversy over a goal scored by hand.
To hammer home the point, he read out, one by one, the 81 competitions using VAR, beginning with Albania, Algeria, Argentina, Armenia and Australia.
The monologue lasted about 90 seconds and even name-checked the second divisions in Colombia, Thailand and South Korea.
He joked that reporters need not take notes because the full list would be shared afterwards, drawing amused and puzzled reactions in the room.
The Belgian, formerly of Monaco, was appointed Norwich head coach in November last year after a spell at Rangers.
