Arsenal have been handed a timely boost in their title charge with Piero Hincapié (23) returning to full training after a frustrating spell on the sidelines. The Colombian defender has missed the last five matches with a groin injury but was pictured back among his teammates during Thursday’s open session at London Colney, as reported by Sky Sports.
Hincapié, who joined Arsenal on loan from Bayer Leverkusen on Deadline Day with an option to buy, has so far made only one brief appearance, a late cameo in the Champions League victory at Athletic Club. His return offers manager Mikel Arteta greater depth and versatility across the back line as the Gunners prepare for a trip to Fulham this Saturday.
While Hincapié’s recovery provides encouragement, there were minor concerns elsewhere. Ben White was a notable absentee from training, while Martin Zubimendi, another recent arrival, was restricted to light work on the sidelines alongside sporting director Andrea Berta.
With Arsenal sitting atop the table, Arteta will hope the defensive reinforcements arrive at the right time as the club seeks to maintain momentum in both domestic and European competition.
