Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang has voiced regret over how his time at Olympique de Marseille ended, after a campaign in which targets were missed. He characterised last season as chaotic.
According to L'Équipe, the 37-year-old spoke by video call on Thursday, saying he wanted to stay at OM but felt pushed towards the exit, and that the environment was not healthy or stable.
This summer he joined the historic Spanish club Deportivo La Corogne in a €1.5m deal, the team returning to the top flight after eight seasons in the second and third divisions.
He has already appeared in their 1 August friendly against Sankt Pauli, a 1-0 win.
Aubameyang came across as amiable, calm and sincere, smiling as he reflected on a Marseille season that fell short of expectations.
